TUCK Executive Education-Darmouth
What an amazing experience that super exceeded my expectations. I was one of 10 entrepreneurs selected to receive the Latina Style Magazine "Anna Maria Arias Memorial Business Fund in 2008 !..:-)
This business fund has been the most respected and coveted business award program for Latina business owners in the United States. The fund was created to recognize the accomplishments of Anna Maria Arias, the late founder and editor of Latina Style Magazine. Her drive and mission to empower Hispanic women is one of the true legacies in the Hispanic community.
Thank you, Robert Bard, President & CEO from Latina Style Magazine in his tireless efforts to make a difference. Robert has a heart of gold.
I would also like to acknowledge our sponsors Shell, State Farm and Wal Mart. I was thrilled and empowered to participate in the Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth . Thought leadership. Business results.
In the past, Latina Style Magazine provided a $5,000.00 grant to Anna Maria Recipients. We were the first group that attended Tuck. This was an amazing educational experience. My mind was stimulated and I was wired through out our sessions.
Robert Bard is an incredible man devoted to carry Anna Maria's legacy by empowering Latina Entrepreneurs. For the past 20 years, Latina Style Magazine travels nationally providing workshops designed for entrepreneurs . To date, the Business series has touched 20,00 Latinas in over 70 cities across America.
This pictures were taken in Washington DC, when we received our awards.
4 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Robert. I shook his hand and firmly informed him that I planned on being one of the recipients. My time lines were with in 3 years. Three years flew by and my vision turned into reality!..:-)
Tuck is an Ivy League institution located in New Hampshire.
Tuck was the first business school to design and offer programming unique to minority entrepreneurs—and has continued to do so for over 25 years. They have expertise in building and growing women-owned businesses and in partnering with resource organizations to deliver learning solutions that address the business concerns of their members. All of which proves that Tuck adapts quickly to meet the needs of virtually any group. http://www.tuck.dartmouth.edu/exec/targeted_audiences/minority.htmlk.dartmouth.edu/exec/targeted_audiences/minority.html
Here we are Shawna Baca and Terry Beltran, fellow entrepreneurs. We toured the facility. What a beautiful campus with so much history. We had to visit the campus store and s purchase our Tuck clothing.
After our class sessions, we all had the opportunity of having a consultation. This is the CEO, Martha De La Torre, from El Classficado. An amazing business woman and so down to earth. She was sharing her wisdom.
Our faculty consisted of Professor Leonard Greenhalgh, Martin Davidson, Joseph Hall, Punam Anand Keller and Phillilp C. Stocken. They were all full of energy, passion and interesting... so down to earth and helpful. They really made learning fun...I felt like a sponge...wanting more and more!...
To the right is Carol Fenster, CEO of Baby Abuelita Productions LLC. She created a Spanish doll that is now carried in Wal-mart & Target. It was interesting to hear her story and how she was able to get product into major retail stores.
Standing besides me is Sandra Sedillo McGlothlin, Co-Owner of Empire Roofing, Ltd. She was recognized by the US Hispanic Chamber as Entrepreneur of the year. Another amazing woman that grew her business.
Paula Graves and Kate were so dedicated in making our experience memorable. The food, snacks and deserts were scrumptious. I kept eating therefore had to work out frequently in order to fit in my clothes. Mission was accomplished!...:-)
Above, I am joined by Terry Beltran President of Vista Latinos LLC at Lou's. We had to try this place....food was mouthwatering.... They are known for creating this treat.... I couldn't so I tried buttermilk pancakes which were the tastiest pancakes ever!..;)
What a small world. I meet Tizoc from Northrup Grumen. As it turns out, we new many folks.
