Exciting News-Award

After experiencing challenges, I am happy that much of the stresses have passed.

Wow..... I was selected as the 2006 Emerging Latina by the NLBWA (National Latina Business Women Association of OC). http://www.nlbwa-oc.com/ What an honor.... Right before I received a call informing me of the selection, I was chasing my two little ones around pretending I was King Kong . I just love hearing their little voices full of laughter and spirit as I chase them and pick them up & give them a big hug and beso (kiss). This award indicates that it's never to late to have and dream, make it into reality by being focused & strategically aligning your self with organizations that will assist you with your business endeavors.

My win-win philosophy made this possible. As a founding member of the Central California Hispanic Chamber of commerce in Fresno as a college student, serving as the Executive Director of the Bakersfield Hispanic Chamber shortely after I graduated from college & taking an active past leadership role with the CA State Hispanic Chamber , my passion lies in assisting an organization, fellow entrepreneurs and being a spokesperson . My educational background also sets a strong foundation: my BA in communications, management certificate & a Masters degree in organizational Management.

As a new entrepreneur, nothing comes easy. My involvement with our Orange County NLBWA, has allowed my business to flourish. My membership allowed me to meet members from our NLBWA chapters in Northern CA, LA and San Diego. Many key contacts were developed as a result. I totally give credit to our NLBWA from Orange County for creating a path were I could make it win-win and today. The Orange County Hispanic Chamber http://www. hcoc.org.com/ also contributed so much... The partnership between HCOC and NLBWA are working side by side in order to assist entrepreneur with their dreams. It's amazing the many doors that have opened as a result of networking .

Never losing sight of your vision and remaining positive are key. Entrepreneurship reminds me of being a college student ; many times one must make sacrifices by working on weekends & many, many late nights. Maintaining your spirits up when you get knocked down, beat up, great ideas turn to nothing, one must come up and be the Ever Ready bunny and just keep on going, going, going.... One of my favorite themes is the Rocky theme.... "Felling strong now......" My favorite saying is from Steve Covey "Begin with the end it Mind" this saying always directs me to my path. My journey has made me a stronger wiser person. I'm a person that appreciates life & people and believes in helping one others.

As a stay home mom and entrepreneur, this journey has been the most challenging yet rewarding experience. Leaving the corporate world was difficult and establishing a business was such a 180. I never realized what business owners go through.... what an eye opener.. I have a wonderful supportive husband and two beautiful children that encourage me to pursue my dreams and motivate me to continue the journey. It's not what you have now but what you will have in the future. I also have so many wonderful friends that I can turn to when nothing seems to go right. My support team, my buddies ....Tanya, Janet, Terry, Grace, Daniel, Carmen, Sandra, Nora, Larry, Nelly, Patricia & Bill from SCORE and my clients.

NLBWA http://www.nlbwa-oc.com/ has been one of the best organizations along with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce from OC. The work shops, speakers and networking opportunities are amazing. Through the Hispanic Chamber, I've met other members through the State Hispanic Chamber http:// www.cahcc.com/ and the USHCC http://www.ushcc.com/. Why am I involved ? My vision is to become an international company & import & export; I'm setting my foundation for the future. It's all the small steps that we take towards our goals that will open many doors. I included a picture of last years HCOC Estrella Awards, when I received the small business of the year and my fellow NLBWA amigas were the first ones to congratulate me!.. My hat's off to all the leaders that are creating a path for other Latina entrepreneur. Did you know that there are more Latinas entrepreneur taking the lead now than any other ethnic group. It has not been two years yet that NLBW was created, we now have over 300 members. Talk about supply and demand...there's a demand. The talent is everywhere!...

Jennesse, Publisher from La Diva Latina from New York interviewed me and has a great story on my business http://www.ladivalatina.com/. Although we haven't meet only having communications through emails and telephone conversations, I think so much of Jennese. When I'm working my time (10pm), I'll receive emails from her.... I use to feel sorry for myself because I used to think...oh poor me... I'm working so hard & everyone else is relaxing. I found out that people with dreams and determination are doing the same thing in order to survive. Wow... this women has a passion for what she does!... I feed off her energy, drive and determination. I love her magazines !.... her words are powerful..... INFORM, IGNITE, INSPIRE... Check her publication!... I totally admire her.

Exprosal Women's Inc, Mirian will be having her Fashion Show on April 29 and I'll be there. Another talented & dedicated Latina paving her road for success. Now here's another Latina with so much dedication, nothing going to stop her in producing a beautiful event and high lighting many talented Latinas. Go Mirian!.... Another dedicated women!...

She received a national award last year. If any of you are interested in giving your daughers a book that will inspire.....this is very inspirational. Both Sylvia & I belong to the same groups that promote celebrating our families, passion and sisterhood. Sylvia interviewed me this week for her magazine. The interview will be out this fall 2006. What an incredible women. She wakes up at 4:30 am in the morning to followed her dreams in order to be with her children. There you have another powerful woman that excels!..
